Fountain–Bessac House

The Fountain–Bessac House, located at 102 W. Main Street in Manchester, Michigan, is a historic site recognized for its architectural significance and rich history. Built in 1842 by flour mill owner Jacob Fountain, the house showcases a blend of Greek Revival and Italian Villa styles, with a unique design that resembles a wedding cake. The house served various purposes over the years, including a medical practice, and underwent renovations in the late 1940s. Designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1986 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, it offers visitors a glimpse into the architectural evolution and local history of the region.
