Casa de la Guerra

Casa de la Guerra is a historic house museum in Santa Barbara, California, once the residence of José de la Guerra y Noriega, a key figure in Californio history. Built in 1828, the house features thirteen rooms that were considered grand for its time. Following significant renovations in the Victorian style by his son Pablo after the 1857 Fort Tejon earthquake, the home reflects a blend of historical and architectural significance. Now a Santa Barbara City Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Casa is being restored to its 19th-century appearance and is open to visitors on weekends, offering a glimpse into the life of early Californian settlers.
