San Antonio Central Library (Ricardo Legorreta building)

The San Antonio Central Library, designed by Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta and opened in 1995, is noted for its bold magenta exterior, geometric forms, and a large interior courtyard. The building departs from conventional library architecture in the U.S. and is considered a signature example of postmodern Latin American-influenced civic design.
