War Memorial Veterans Building - site of the United Nations Charter signing

The Veterans Building (part of the War Memorial and Performing Arts Center) at 401 Van Ness Ave hosted sessions of the United Nations Conference on International Organization in 1945. Delegates from 50 Allied nations signed the United Nations Charter at the site on June 26, 1945, a well-documented historic event. The building remains a documented landmark of international diplomacy in San Francisco.
