Old North Church (Christ Church in the City of Boston)

Built in 1723, Old North Church is Boston's oldest surviving church building and is famous for its role in the opening actions of the American Revolution. In April 1775, lanterns were displayed in the church's steeple as a signal related to Paul Revere's ride; some historical details of the signaling are debated among historians. The church remains an active Episcopal parish and a popular stop on the Freedom Trail.
