Wollison–Shipton Building

The Wollison–Shipton Building, located at 142-156 North Street in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is a historic commercial block designed by architect H. Neil Wilson and constructed in 1888. This four-story structure features a distinctive combination of Philadelphia pressed red brick and rusticated brownstone trim, showcasing a central section with a hip roof and flanking mansarded wings. Originally housing the local YMCA on its second floor, the building reflects the architectural style of its time with modern storefronts and unique window designs. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is part of the Park Square Historic District, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
