Sutro Baths ruins (Lands End)

Sutro Baths was a large public saltwater swimming complex built by Adolph Sutro and opened in 1896 at the western edge of San Francisco; the structure burned in 1966 and the concrete ruins remain. The site is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is reached via Lands End trails and the Lands End Lookout visitor center. Visitors can view the remaining pool walls, foundations, and interpretive signs that explain the site's history.
