Renaissance Center (RenCen)

The Renaissance Center complex was completed in 1977 as a riverfront redevelopment project and is comprised of seven interconnected towers. General Motors established its global headquarters in the central tower after acquiring the complex in 1996. The RenCen has been a prominent example of late-20th-century commercial and corporate infrastructure on Detroit's riverfront.
