Starr Family Home State Historic Site

The Starr Family Home State Historic Site, located in downtown Marshall, Texas, spans 3.1 acres and showcases the rich history of one of Texas's influential political families over 150 years. Featuring several historic structures, including the main house Maplecroft, the site offers insights into the lives of the Starr family during the Republic of Texas and early statehood. Designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the site was opened to the public in 1986 and provides a unique glimpse into Texas's antebellum past and architectural heritage.
