Middlebury Gorge Concrete Arch Bridge

The Middlebury Gorge Concrete Arch Bridge, built in 1924, is a historic and well-preserved example of early concrete bridge engineering located in eastern Middlebury, Vermont. Spanning 42 feet over the Middlebury River, this picturesque bridge features a semicircular arch and is notable for its scenic setting amidst the Green Mountains. It is one of the few bridges in Vermont to have survived the devastating floods of 1927 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. Visitors can appreciate its simple yet elegant design, which includes paneled pilastered pillars and a decorative beltcourse.
