Kagi Shrine

Kagi Shrine, originally built in 1915 in Chiayi City, Taiwan, was a significant Shinto shrine dedicated to various deities including Amaterasu. It underwent several transformations, including a change in orientation and elevation in status over the years. After World War II, the main hall was repurposed as a martyrs' shrine but was destroyed by fire in 1994. Today, the site features the Chiayi Tower, inspired by indigenous mythology, and the remaining structures serve as the Chiayi City Historical Relics Museum. Visitors can explore the beautiful classical Japanese architecture and enjoy the serene surroundings of Chiayi Park.
