Jacobson Farm

Jacobson Farm, located southeast of Decorah, Iowa, is a historic site that showcases 127 years of Norwegian-American agricultural heritage. Owned by the Jacobson family, the farm features buildings that reflect a blend of traditional Norwegian log construction and American framing techniques, with original elements preserved alongside later adaptations. The farm's history is enriched by its association with Abraham Jacobson, a notable figure who connected with Robert Todd Lincoln and contributed to the community through various roles, including serving in the Iowa House of Representatives. Donated to the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in 1977 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, the farm offers a unique glimpse into the evolution of rural life and culture in Iowa.
