Santa Clara Valley Water District - county flood control and stormwater coordination

The Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD), headquartered in San José, is the public agency responsible for flood protection and regional stormwater management across Santa Clara County. SCVWD designs, constructs, operates and maintains flood control channels, pump stations, detention basins and other stormwater infrastructure affecting San José, including projects on Coyote Creek and the Guadalupe River. The district coordinates with the City of San José on storm drain outfalls, flood-control projects, and compliance with state and federal flood/stormwater permits.
