Ferdinand Ewert Building

The Ferdinand Ewert Building was a historic row house in the West End of Davenport, Iowa, showcasing a blend of Vernacular, Federal, and Greek Revival architectural styles. Constructed shortly after the area was developed in 1852, it was built by Gottlieb Wedige and later purchased by teamster Ferdinand Ewert in 1871. The building was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, although it has since been demolished. This site reflects the architectural trends of Davenport's settlement period and offers insight into the city's development.
