Melrose/Williamson House

Melrose, also known as the Williamson House, is a historic plantation house located near Yanceyville, North Carolina. This architectural gem features two connected two-story frame blocks, showcasing Federal style details from its original section built around 1780, and Greek Revival elements from a later addition around 1840. Notable features include a grand portico with Doric columns and a charming octagonal pump house. Recognized for its historical significance, Melrose was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
