Neptune Inn, Ipswich

The Neptune Inn is a historic public house in Ipswich, Suffolk, dating back to around 1490 and recognized as a grade II* listed building. Originally purchased by John Cobbold in 1845, it underwent significant renovations, with original fixtures sold to a collector for the Burrell Collection. In 1947, the building was acquired by George Bodley Scott, who commissioned a historical survey that contributed to the understanding of its rich past. Visitors can still see a tavern clock from circa 1740, adding to the inn's charm and historical significance.
