Painted Ladies (Alamo Square)

The row of Victorian houses often called the Painted Ladies is the famous series of homes facing Alamo Square Park; the most-photographed stretch is commonly referenced at 710 Steiner St. The houses and the view from Alamo Square were used as the establishing shot for the TV show Full House and have since been widely parodied and repurposed in internet images and memes. The backdrop is an enduring visual shorthand for San Francisco in online culture.
