Childs Restaurant (Boardwalk)

The Childs Restaurant Building, a designated New York City landmark located on the Riegelmann Boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn, was completed in 1923 and features a striking Spanish Revival design with colorful terra cotta ornamentation. Originally serving affordable meals to beachgoers, the three-story structure includes a roof garden and spans 60,000 square feet. After closing in 1952, it transitioned through various uses, including a candy factory and roller skating rink, before being redeveloped into the Ford Amphitheater, which opened in 2016. The site now hosts concerts and includes a restaurant, making it a vibrant part of Coney Island's entertainment scene.
