Make Way for Ducklings statues - Public Garden children's sculpture

The bronze 'Make Way for Ducklings' sculptures by artist Nancy Schön were installed in the Boston Public Garden in 1987 and depict the mother duck and eight ducklings from Robert McCloskey's 1941 children's book. The statues are a popular family attraction and have been the subject of annual events and occasional repairs and replicas exchanged with other cities. They occupy a permanent site near the Public Garden lagoon and are a recognized Boston cultural icon.
