Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens - local lotus and waterlily site

Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, managed by the National Park Service at 1550 Anacostia Ave NE, preserves extensive ponds planted with waterlilies and lotuses that bloom each summer and draw local visitors and birdwatchers. The site began as privately developed water gardens in the early 20th century and was later acquired and managed by federal authorities. It is notable as one of the few national park units focused on aquatic plant habitats within an urban area.
