Great Armoury

The Great Armoury, a stunning example of 17th-century Mannerist architecture, is located in Gdańsk, Poland, near the Targ Węglowy. Originally built as an arsenal between 1600 and 1605, it features a distinctive façade adorned with bas-reliefs of Athena and Gdańsk soldiers. After serving various purposes, including a military hospital and a shopping arcade, it now houses the Academy of Fine Arts. The building, which underwent significant reconstruction after World War II, continues to host art exhibitions, making it a vibrant cultural hub for tourists and researchers alike.
