The Grotto (National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother)

The Grotto is a Catholic outdoor shrine and botanical garden at 8840 NE Skidmore St in Northeast Portland, established in 1924. The 62-acre site includes a cliffside grotto, an upper sanctuary, and Stations of the Cross with life-sized statues, combining religious functions with horticultural displays. It is a longtime neighborhood landmark and destination for pilgrimage, reflection, and public gardens.
