Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory - EVA training pool

The Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory on the Johnson Space Center campus contains a multi-million-gallon indoor pool (about 6.2 million gallons) used to simulate weightlessness for extravehicular activity training. Astronauts train there in full spacesuits on full-scale mockups of the International Space Station and other hardware. The NBL is part of JSC's astronaut training complex and is used to prepare crews for spacewalks on Shuttle and ISS missions.
