Neon Museum - preservation of the Moulin Rouge sign and integration history

The Neon Museum's Boneyard preserves and displays signage salvaged from the Moulin Rouge Hotel, which opened in 1955 and is documented as the first major racially integrated hotel-casino in Las Vegas. The museum interprets the Moulin Rouge sign and other artifacts as part of its collection on the city's mid-century entertainment and social history. The Neon Museum maintains the restored La Concha lobby as its visitor center and conducts guided tours of its outdoor sign collection.
