James Martin House (Florence, Alabama)

The James Martin House, also known as the Martin-Bounds House, is a historic residence in Florence, Alabama, notable for its connection to James Martin, a prominent industrialist of the Antebellum era. Built in 1839, the house showcases Federal-style architecture with Greek Revival elements, including fluted Doric columns. The property has a rich history, having survived a fire and the Civil War, and remained in the Martin family until 1879. It was later owned by the Bounds family until 1974.
