Stowers Building

The Stowers Building, located at 820 Fannin Street in downtown Houston, Texas, is a historic ten-story structure built in 1913 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally developed for the G. A. Stowers Furniture Company after a fire destroyed their previous store, the building showcases early 20th-century architectural styles influenced by Chicago design. It features a white brick facade and a pressed metal cornice, designed by the local firm Green & Finger. In 2016, the building was transformed into the Hotel Aloft, enhancing Houston's lodging options ahead of the 2017 Super Bowl. The Stowers Building stands as a testament to Houston's early skyscraper development and is a notable landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in the city's architectural history.
