Morris–Jumel Mansion

The Morris–Jumel Mansion, built about 1765, is the oldest surviving house in Manhattan and is located in Washington Heights. The house served as George Washington's temporary headquarters in 1776 during the Revolutionary War and later became the home of the Jumel and Morris families. It now operates as a historic house museum interpreting 18th- and 19th-century domestic life and local history.
