First National Bank Building (Fort Dodge, Iowa)

The First National Bank Building, now the Central Place Apartments, is a historic landmark in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Established in 1866, the bank was a key financial institution in the city, with its leadership comprising prominent local businessmen. The building, designed in the Early Commercial style by the Des Moines firm Liebbe, Nourse & Rasmussen, stands 90 feet tall and features six stories. After its renovation into apartments, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 and recognized as part of the Fort Dodge Downtown Historic District in 2010, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
