Baldwin-Grantham House

The Baldwin-Grantham House, also known as Locust Grove, is a historic home located in Shanghai, West Virginia, built in 1749. Originally a log cabin constructed by Frances Baldwin, it has undergone several expansions, including a brick kitchen addition in the early 19th century and a two-story front section added by his son Moses Grantham. The house showcases a blend of architectural styles, including Federal and Greek Revival, and features a unique dog-trot breezeway. With its rich history and connection to prominent local figures, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, making it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and local history.
