Jack Kilby - invention of the integrated circuit at Texas Instruments

Jack Kilby, an engineer at Texas Instruments' Dallas laboratory, built the first working integrated circuit in 1958 while working at TI's facility in Dallas. Kilby's work at the Dallas site is credited with founding the modern semiconductor industry and he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2000 for that invention. The Texas Instruments campus in Dallas has been associated with Kilby's research and the company's early semiconductor developments.
