Søkvæsthuset

Søkvæsthuset is a historic building located on Christianshavn Canal in Copenhagen, Denmark, originally constructed as a royal orphanage in 1754-1755. It later served as a naval hospice and housed the Royal Danish Naval Museum until 2016. The architecture features yellow masonry with light grey pilasters and a rounded pediment adorned with war trophies. The building has a rich history, having been home to notable cultural figures like poet Johan Ludvig Heiberg in the 19th century. Today, it stands as a testament to Copenhagen's maritime heritage and architectural evolution.
