Meyer's Castle

Meyer's Castle, located in Dyer, Indiana, is a historic house built between 1927 and 1931 in the Jacobethan style by architect Cosbey Bernard Sr. Originally constructed as a private residence for herbologist Joseph Ernest Meyer, the castle is a replica of a Scottish castle and was the largest mansion in the Calumet region upon completion. Set atop 'Indian Hill', known for its Native American artifacts, the estate features beautiful grounds where peacocks roam. After years of neglect, the property was renovated and now serves as a special events venue and a reservation-only restaurant, making it a unique destination for tourists and researchers alike.
