Prohászka Mill

The Prohászka Mill, located in Timișoara, Romania, is a historic industrial building on the banks of the Bega Canal. Constructed in 1869, it is the largest surviving mill from the industrial boom of the late 19th century. Originally a branch of the Elisabeth Mill in Budapest, it was expanded in 1909 by Ede Prohászka Jr. and became a significant grain processing facility, employing up to 300 workers and exporting products across Europe and to the United States. Despite its historical importance, the mill has been abandoned and is now in a state of decay, offering a glimpse into the region's industrial past for tourists and researchers alike.
