The Adolphus Hotel (Beaux-Arts skyscraper)

The Adolphus Hotel opened in 1912 and was designed in the Beaux-Arts style by the St. Louis firm Barnett, Haynes & Barnett. At its completion it was the tallest building in Dallas and became a symbol of early 20th-century commercial grandeur in the city. The hotel retains ornate terra-cotta and sculptural detailing characteristic of Beaux-Arts civic and hospitality architecture.
