McMenamins Kennedy School

Built in 1915 as Kennedy Elementary School, the building was converted by McMenamins and reopened in 1997 as a hotel, pub, movie theater, and event complex that preserves many original classroom spaces. The site is notable for its adaptive reuse of an early-20th-century public school into a hospitality and cultural venue while retaining historic architectural features. It remains a landmark example of school-to-arts reuse in Portland.
