Cliveden (Chew House) Revolutionary War site and hauntings

Cliveden, also called the Chew House, was the site of heavy fighting during the 1777 Battle of Germantown when British troops fortified the mansion. The National Trust property is associated with local ghost stories and reported hauntings that reference sounds and apparitions tied to the battle. The house is interpreted as a historic site and its battle history is well documented in Revolutionary War accounts.
