Parliament House, Dublin

Parliament House, located on College Green in Dublin, was the seat of the Parliament of Ireland from the 1730s until its abolition in 1800. Designed by architect Edward Lovett Pearce, it was the world's first purpose-built bicameral parliament building. Originally the site of Chichester House, the structure underwent significant renovations and expansions, including notable work by James Gandon. The building features a semi-circular design with a grand colonnade and statues representing Ireland, Fidelity, and Commerce. Since 1803, it has been owned by the Bank of Ireland and served as its head office until the 1970s, making it a significant historical and architectural landmark for visitors and researchers alike.
