Bachelor's Hope (Centreville, Maryland)

Bachelor's Hope is a historic house located in Centreville, Maryland, built between 1798 and 1815 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. This unique structure features a combination of brick and frame construction, with a distinctive five-bay, one-and-a-half story design. Visitors can admire its symmetrical facade, complete with original windows and a modern porch, as well as an interior that showcases an unusual variation of the Georgian central hall plan. The house retains much of its early fabric, including original woodwork and fireplaces, making it a significant example of early American architecture on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
