Established in 1903 by Mary Chase Perry Stratton and Horace Caulkins, Pewabic Pottery is a historic ceramic studio and school in Detroit known for its distinctive iridescent glazes. Pewabic produced architectural tiles and decorative ceramics used in numerous Detroit buildings and public spaces, contributing to the city's architectural character. The pottery continues to operate as a ceramic studio, gallery, and educational center preserving traditional techniques.
