Rothko Chapel (Mark Rothko paintings and interfaith space)

The Rothko Chapel is a non-denominational chapel in Houston commissioned by patrons John and Dominique de Menil as an interfaith space. The interior contains fourteen large, dark color-field paintings created by artist Mark Rothko specifically for the chapel. The site also hosts community and cultural programs in addition to serving as a contemplative art space.
