The Alamo Cenotaph (The Spirit of Sacrifice) - Pompeo Coppini sculpture

The Alamo Cenotaph, officially titled The Spirit of Sacrifice, is a large granite monument sculpted by Pompeo Coppini and erected on Alamo Plaza in 1939. The cenotaph commemorates those who died in the 1836 Battle of the Alamo and is a prominent, frequently photographed monument immediately in front of the Alamo church.
