Biederman's Cabin

Biederman's Cabin, also known as Biederman's Fish Camp, is a historic site located on the Yukon River in Alaska, within the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve. Built in 1916 by Max Adolphus 'Ed' Biederman, an immigrant drawn to Alaska by the Nome Gold Rush, the cabin reflects the subsistence lifestyle of early 20th-century residents. Originally serving as a summer residence for the Biederman family, it was also a fish camp equipped with fish wheels for salmon fishing. The cabin has been used as a shelter for winter travelers and was an official rest area during the Yukon Quest sled dog race. Despite its decline in use after Biederman's death in 1945, it remains a notable landmark for visitors interested in Alaska's history and outdoor activities.
