5 Pointz, located in Long Island City, Queens, was a vibrant mural space and a global hub for aerosol art, showcasing the work of over 200 artists. Originally a factory built in 1892, it transformed into a renowned graffiti mecca in the 1990s under the curation of artist Jonathan Cohen. The name '5 Pointz' symbolizes the unity of New York City's five boroughs. Despite its cultural significance, the building was controversially demolished in 2014 to make way for a residential complex, sparking protests and legal battles over the fate of the murals.
