Fort Hose

Fort Hose is a historical fort located in Marudi, Sarawak, Malaysia, built in 1898 by Charles Brooke to protect government activities and control local rebellions. Overlooking the Baram River, it served as an administrative center and accommodation for the Resident. After being destroyed by fire in 1994, it was reconstructed and transformed into the Baram District Museum in 1996, showcasing the cultural heritage of local communities such as the Kayan, Kenyah, Kelabit, and Penan. The fort is recognized as a cultural heritage site, making it a significant attraction for tourists and researchers interested in Sarawak's history and indigenous cultures.
