Dobor

Dobor is a fascinating medieval town located in present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina, approximately 4 km northwest of Modriča. Established around 1387 by the Horvat brothers as a stronghold against Sigismund of Luxembourg, it has a rich history marked by its strategic importance in Bosnian-Hungarian relations. The town changed hands multiple times, falling under the control of the Ottoman Empire and later the Austrians. Today, Dobor is known for its unique medieval architecture, featuring two distinctive towers from the 15th century, one shaped like an irregular cylinder and the other resembling an inverted Latin letter D. Although now in ruins, Dobor offers a glimpse into its storied past, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
