Mission San José ("Queen of the Missions")

Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo, commonly called Mission San José, was founded in 1720 and is noted for its large complex and the carved stone Rose Window on the church facade. It is the largest mission in the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and is included in the San Antonio Missions UNESCO World Heritage site. The mission complex includes a restored church, cloister, granary, and living quarters interpreted for visitors.
