Jusélius Mausoleum

The Jusélius Mausoleum, located in Pori, Finland, is a unique and historic site, being the only mausoleum in the country. Completed in 1903, it was built by businessman Fritz Arthur Jusélius in memory of his daughter Sigrid, who tragically passed away at the age of eleven. The mausoleum features a stunning interior adorned with frescoes by renowned Finnish artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela, depicting the seasons and other themes. Although the original frescoes were lost to fire, they were meticulously repainted by Gallen-Kallela's son. The mausoleum is not only a resting place for Sigrid and her father but also a site of cultural significance, surrounded by the picturesque Käppärä Cemetery, making it a must-visit for tourists and researchers interested in Finnish history and art.
