Tremont Street Subway / Park Street area - first U.S. subway station

The Tremont Street Subway, which opened in 1897, is the first subway in the United States; Park Street was one of the original stations on that line and sits at the edge of Boston Common. Park Street Church overlooks the station area and the site is still a major downtown transit node for the MBTA Green and Red Lines.
