India House, Penang

India House is a historical building located in the heart of George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Constructed in 1937, it showcases Indian art deco architecture designed by S.N.A.S Sockalingam Chettiar. Originally used by the Huttenbach Brothers & Co., it served various purposes over the years, including as a temporary headquarters for the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation during World War II and later as the United States Information Service until the 1970s.
