Shiraz University

Shiraz University, established in 1946 in Shiraz, Iran, is one of the country's oldest and most prestigious institutions, recognized for its research output and diverse academic programs. Originally founded as a technical college, it evolved into a comprehensive university offering over 200 bachelor's, 300 master's, and 150 PhD programs. The university has a rich history, having been influenced by American educational models during the Pahlavi era, and it played a significant role in the development of higher education in Iran. Following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, it was renamed Shiraz University and underwent significant changes, including a period of closure during the Cultural Revolution. Today, it serves over 20,000 students and continues to be a leading educational institution in Iran.
